Ground source heat pumps (GSHP) circulate a mixture of water and antifreeze around a series of pipes in the ground known as a loop or collector. This pipework is buried in the ground and the heat pump extracts renewable, solar energy from the ground to produce sufficient heat to comfortably cater for all your heating and hot water requirements. This heat can then be used in radiators or an underfloor distribution system.

By using a ground heat source to generate efficient energy for your home, you can help to reduce harmful carbon emissions into the environment whilst providing your domestic heating and hot water needs. This is a fantastic sustainable alternative to fossil fuels.

Selection and design of the right systems to suit a building and your project is one of, if not the, most important part of a renewable energy project. OPC manufactures its own heat pumps called OPC RuralEco’s or OPC UrbanEco’s which are latest generation heat pumps with amazing monitoring and control capabilities.

The most reliable heating system

Ground Source Heat Pumps provide a consistent and reliable form of heating for your home.

Reduce your heating bills

Ground Source Heat Pumps are extremely efficient when designed, specified and installed correctly. OPC utilise their in-house design capabilities with the skill and expertise of their installation partners or your own plumbers/installers, to make sure that you receive a new heating and DHW system that is as cost effective and efficient as possible and minimises your running costs.

You can make significant savings versus traditional electric, oil and LPG heating systems, and this can be between 50-75% reduction in running costs.

Government Incentive

The Government created an incentive scheme known as the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) in 2014. This scheme rewards owners of newly installed renewable heating technologies such as Ground Source Heat Pumps. Switching to a Ground Source Heat Pump saves energy and therefore helps the UK reduce its carbon emissions and meet its renewable energy targets.

People who join the scheme receive quarterly payments for seven years for having clean, green, renewable heat energy and the payments are based on the estimated generation produced by their system.

Operating nationally, with the Head Office located in Oxfordshire, One Planets Consultants Ltd (OPC) are an experienced Renewable Energy company that can deliver ‘Design, specification, supply, Installation and commissioning’ services for renewable technology projects. Working closely with Homeowners, Landowners, Architects, Developers, Community, and charity clients, their practical experience and technical knowledge means that they can identify and deliver the ideal mix of low and zero carbon technologies for any given project or client. The core team at OPC have been working in the Renewable sector for over 12 years and bring a wide range of experience and skill sets to enable the smooth delivery and small to large scale projects.

From a consultancy perspective OPC will deliver clear, concise advice on the best renewable solutions for any given project.  OPC’s expertise spans the full range of Renewable Energy technologies including Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHP), Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP), Solar Photovoltaics (PV) and Solar Thermal (Domestic Hot Water).

Their commitment and focus on designing the correct solution makes OPC one of the leading independent UK Renewable Energy consultants and installation contractors. OPC deliver superior customer service, design expertise through to specification, supply and installation of Renewable Energy products and systems. At OPC they understand that every project is different and the level of support and input required for each client can vary dramatically. OPC pride themselves on maintaining an optimum level of support to help their clients understand the technologies and to make the choices they have to with ease.

OPC are able to offer a complete ‘turn-key’ solution or any component part of a Renewable Project, choosing the most suitable products and suppliers to ensure they maintain that cutting edge which enables OPC to provide innovative solutions to each project. In addition to purchasing various heat pump brands such as Mitsubishi, they also supply their own range of ground and air source heat pumps. OPC have worked closely with the designers and manufacturing to ensure the systems built for OPC are technologically the latest generation and also have the most up to date functionality from remote monitoring and diagnosis to mobile phone or tablet control.
