Chancery Search Question

We've been told by our solicitor that we have to have a Chancery search done on a property we are purchasing and that in all likelyhood I'll need to take out Chancery insurance does anyone have any info on this at all?

Double glazing in my listed house

My husband and I recently moved into our grade II listed home and suffered throughout the winter months with the cold. We are looking at replacing the window panes with double glazing whilst still retaining the original frames as those pvc frames are ghastly and wouldn't suit our home at all.

We are unsure whether or not this complies with the building regulations for listed properties. Does anyone have any experience of updating windows in a listed property?
