Jo Whittaker, Glass Engraver

Naomi Jones talks to glass engraver Jo Whittaker about her love of English country design and how it influences her work.

Have you always been interested in making things?
Being inventive is definitely in my blood, and I find myself thinking of new designs for engravings all the time; but I have to be very strict with myself to get the more mundane parts of running a business done.

Were your parents encouraging?
Yes, my mother was a ballerina and my father was a musician, so I grew up with a love of the arts – and my tin of colouring pencils was my first and most prized possession.
