October update - We are watertight!
It feels like we have turned a corner, I won’t say we are on the home straight but we are certainly moving forwards at pace. It’s amazing to finally be able to walk through from the new to the existing building….!

The building inspector has signed off the roof work and internal structural beams…yey

Progress This Month:
- The single storey building has now been fully insulated and tiled
- Guttering and downpipe has been installed on the garden side
- Windows have been installed in the extension and an additional window in the upstairs of the existing building…..there’s a few more to come yet!
- The doorways have been blocked up, we will wait until all the structural work is complete before installing to prevent damage.
- The brickwork between the existing and new building has been taken out to create an open plan arrangement downstairs.
- The bricks will be supported by two large oak beams and an oak post. This is the location where the stairs will eventually be.
- The two oak beams have been installed to hold the brickwork
- Electrician has installed the consumer unit to provide power back to the house

Alison Moses and her partner are currently renovating an 18th century Lock Cottage in Staffordshire.
Currently the property has been stripped out, back to the orginal brick and they are waiting for planning permission before starting the extension. They intend on putting as much of the original features back into the property as possible and have already taken the ceiling down to reveal the old purlings.
Alison and her partner will be completing most of the renovation work themselves and expect this to take a year to 18 months before completion.
