Is there an entirely natural wool-based insulation I can use to make my home more envioronmentally friendly?

I'm keen to make my home environmentally friendly and wool-based insulation seems like a good way to save energy and cut costs. Is it possible to get a product that's entirely natural?

Katharine Clemow replies: A new product called Edenbloc from Second Nature UK (01768 482285) is exactly what you're looking for as it is made from recycled wool and a biopolymer system removes the need for any synthetic components to bind it together. It is suitable for wall lining, between rafters and timber studs and under rafters. The natural fibres also mean the product 'breathes' and can react to changing humidity levels without losing its thermal performance. It will also keep your home cool in the summer.
