Gaps between original floorboards

I have sanded and restored the original floorboards in my Victorian terrace. In some rooms, especially the kitchen, the floorboards have large gaps between them which can mean the room gets quite draughty! A modern sealer was suggested which looked dreadful but II haven't been able to find any other methods of how to fill these gaps preferably in a traditional manner and would be grateful for any advice.

Hi Isla, thanks for your question. Earlier in the year our DIY expert Helaine Clare dealt with this very problem. So you're in luck and there's a fantastically comprehensive piece on how to deal with it here: http://www.periodliving.co.uk/renovating/step-by-step/fixing-draughty-floorboards

Best of luck, and do take a look at the other useful step-by-step guides Helaine has done for us.
