High-Street bathroom

Andy and Denise Ward saved an empty 1900s detached house from demolition and have turned it into a comfortable and stylish family home on a budget. We felt their determination to be as hands-on as possible with the renovation earned their home the title of Best Townhouse in our Readers’ Homes Awards 2008. And the Wards’ project has also been voted the winner of our Readers’ Choice Awards.

ABOVE LEFT: This elegant antique walnut washstand with marble top was an auction room bargain. Denise indulges in room scents from The White Company.

ABOVE RIGHT The roll-top bath came from Taurus Bathrooms and has been painted in Farrow & Ball’s Parma Gray. Large wine decanters from TK Maxx are used to store bubble bath. ‘I read that tip in Period Living and thought it was a great idea,’ says Denise. The towels and bath mat were from Next.
