Bathroom decorating tips
Create a chic bathroom space with these expert tips and accessory ideas.

1. Elegant tiling: This Victorian inspired floor from Topps Tiles uses a series of intricate tile designs to recreate a key look of the period. There are five Buxton tiles that make up the range: unglazed tile, 69p per tile; border 10cm tile, £17.99; corner 10cm tile, £21.15; inset 10cm tile, £12.95; and unglazed octagonal tile, £2.79.
2. Traditional showering: Le Thermo Exposed from Catchpole & Rye proudly shows off its pipework. It features a powerful shower rose that combines classic design with modern technology to produce a heavy downpour of water. Available in silver nickel or chrome, there are three sizes to choose from: 8in, 10in and 12in, from £1,080.

3. Vanity unit: Neptune has designed a timeless free-standing bathroom vanity unit, with curved open shelves on each side that provide plenty of storage space for essential items. It is traditional in style, hand-painted in Old Chalk, and is seen here with a Carrara marble top and Lefroy Brooks taps. The Chichester cabinet with side cupboards costs from £1,585.
4. Effective lighting: Achieving the right ambience in a room often comes down to the lighting you choose – clever use of lighting can completely transform the look and feel of a space. This single Georgetown column sconce with a white pleated fabric shade costs £444 from Drummonds, and is available in nickel. A pair of these charming wall lights would beautifully frame a bathroom mirror or cabinet, creating a space to luxuriate in.

5. Timeless accessories: Made from a natural oyster shell, this pretty soap dish has a creamy lustre and dainty silver feet, adding a touch of glamour to your bathroom. It measures W13cm x H5cm x L23cm – a generous size for an artisan bar of soap – and costs £43 from Balineum.
